God doesn't want to hear about sex?

I haven't forgotten i am supposed to be writing on childhood stories. I am working on that. Please my dear reader, use the comment option below so others can learn from you. Sending comments to my mail box or BBM won't go far... I definitely cannot post comments sent to me, it is just odd. Thank you

5 things happy couples do every day

I found a short article online titled "5 Things a Couple should do" and 3rd breakdown struck me.

3. Share a guilty pleasure.
A lot of couples have a favorite show or other fun secret little indulgences. As a couple, I don’t think my husband and I share one and quite frankly I feel that it is because we fall into the “opposites attract” end of the spectrum. If laughing and enjoying ice cold beer and “extra volcano” buffalo wings together doesn’t count, we’ll have to work on this one..

Sex wasn't mentioned here but, the caption kind of reminded me of a conversation i got into with my colleagues during our usual hangout sessions. I remember we were talking about God and the "weird" things people ask of him. Some of the things listed didn't seem so off to me. So i decided to ask a question; i started by saying "Since it is not right to sleep with my partner before marriage, how do i know that he can actually do what his mates do behind closed doors?". I further said that if i am to pray for a man, that will definitely be in the list. My colleagues almost chopped me raw and cracked my bones join.

But think about it... If the Bible says in 1 Peter 5:7, " Let him have all your worries and cares, for he is always thinking about you and watching everything that concerns you", while shouldn't i be open with God about all that concerns me? I think this is the reason Christianity seems so uptight and unrealistic to many. There are just too many restrictions created by man. Who says God only wants to hear about how beautiful and holy He is and nothing about you? Doesn't that make Him come across as selfish? The verse above explains that He cares about even the things i consider irrelevant for him to know. Sex wasn't invented by man but by God for Christ sakes! If we cannot talk to God and even our parents about this, biko nu, whom can we then talk to? No wonder the act is abused.

What do you think? Please lemme reiterate the use of the comment option below. Thank you

  1. Look.
    Very interesting.
I guess you can table such matter with God.
    It's needed.

  2. Please point them to Songs of Solomon. If "God's book" talks about sex to us why can't we talk about it to him? :D

  3. Erezi thanks for this. Solomon was very vocal... Lol

  4. We sure can talk to him about it but when one is married tho. The wahala na wen d person sucks at it wen u r married already

  5. Lool, I agree especially where you mentioned how people make christianity uptight like a religion instead of a lifestyle. If we can't pray to God about what we feel is important to us, then there's no point praying.

  6. Even the bible highlights that the Holy Spirit teaches ALL THINGS (Sex inclusive, only if you share with him - please do) So here it goes: having sex before marriage is the best choice for nearly everyone.
How do I know? Well, first of all, nearly everyone has sex before marriage – 95% of Nigerian don't wait until their wedding night. And that's a longstanding value (you may disagree). Even among folks in my grandparents' generation, nine out of ten of them had sex before they wed.
Of course, just because lots of people do a thing doesn't mean it's a good thing. But sex is! In terms of happiness, sex is better than money...
